“Parents should be the children’s main source of information on family planning”, Commission on Population and Development Region 1 Regional Director Erma R. Yapit cited during the Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) Caravan held at Sports Complex, Calasiao, Pangasinan recently.
Yapit has further called on the parents to support its program and used the Family Planning services given to them. “Ang pagplaplano at pagpupursigi ay naguumpisa sa ating pamilya, kaya’t sana ay mag-anak lang tayo ng tamang bilang upang mabigay natin ang kanilang mga pangangailangan,” she added.
The RPFP Caravan, being one of the strategies of the agency in the intensified implementation of the National Program on Population and Family Planning (NPPFP) highlights bravery and choice among couples with the theme, “Pamilyang Planado, Panalo.”
This activity has started with sessions on RPFP information, as well as Family Planning services made available for women and sexually active individuals of reproductive age. Likewise, there were 108 potential FP acceptors waiting for PSI insertion.
In a message, Mr. Alex Sevilla, Planning Officer of the Provincial Population Cooperative, Livelihood and Development Office (PPCLDO) said this event is considered as one of the efforts of the national government in eyeing every couples to reach modern family planning and achieve desired timing, spacing and number of children in their family.
The RPFP caravan posted a total of 401 participants in collaboration with the PPCLDO and Local Government Unit of Calasiao.
