The Commission on Population and Development-I (POPCOM) has partnered with the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office (DARPO)-La Union to better serve the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the various agrarian reform communities (ARCs) in the province of La Union.

The partnership aims to strengthen the Reproductive Health and Responsible Parenthood (RPRH) Program, Family Planning (FP) and Gender and Development (GAD) of all agrarian reform communities and beneficiaries in La Union through the conduct of demand generation activities in addressing the unmet need for family planning. It will focus on the integration of Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) and GAD dimensions (Family Planning to enhance capacities of ARBs) in ARCs; strengthening and sustaining agrarian reform support services to ARBs to minimize migration; and inclusion of referral system for RPFP services to ARBs.

The partnership with the DARPO-La Union was made official through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held on July 1, 2019 at the POPCOM-I Office, RSRK Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.

An RPFP Orientation for the ARBs is tentatively set on October 16, 2019.
