The EPIC forum enjoins around 600 Pangasinense youth to become advocates against teenage pregnancy and STIs.

Around 600 youth leaders and young influencers from the province of Pangasinan participated in the Pangasinan Youth Forum: “Empowering Pangasinan Youth to make Informed Choices” (#theEPICforum) on November 19, 2019 at the Sison Auditorium, Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Organized by the Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (PPCLDO) of Pangasinan, the forum aims to discuss and engage the youth on current issues such as on the rising incidence of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections specifically the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in the province.

Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III and Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation President Jerome Vic Espino graced the activity and both urged the participants to “live up with informed decisions in life” and to be responsible by instilling in their minds what they have learned in order to stop the increasing incidence of teenage pregnancy and STIs in the province.

Speakers who shared information during the forum proper were from the Commission on Population and Development-I, National Youth Commission, Provincial Health Office, Schools Division Office 1 of Pangasinan, Pangasinan Youth Leaders’ Association, Pag-Asa Youth Association-Pangasinan Chapter, and John C. Maxwell Team.

Participating schools and universities include the following: Pangasinan National High School, Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades, St. Columban’s College, STI College Dagupan, PHINMA University of Pangasinan, Lyceum Northwestern University, and University of Luzon.
